About Balancing Act
Joe Graham formed Balancing Act to bring together talented and committed people, on stage and off, to present his own plays. “It’s all about highly talented people coming together in a creative environment to present a theatrical experience for audiences way beyond their expectations”.
Balancing Act have now presented many one-act plays in various drama festivals with great success. Stepping out of the festival circuit DANCING TO THE SOUND OF CRUNCHING SNAILS‚ was produced at the OFS STUDIO, OXFORD as part of OXFRINGE 2009 and then as part of the 24:7 Festival in Manchester in July 2009, directed by Joyce Branagh and starring Michael Starke (Brookside).
In 2009 Balancing Act produced A FISTFUL OF MONDAYS at the OFS STUDIO, OXFORD to record breaking audiences, and followed that in May 2010 with Joe’s play FUN RUN at the OFS STUDIO, OXFORD in one of the last productions to be held at the theatre before its closure for refurbishment.
In 2012 Chris Graham directed Joe’s one-act play THE SWING in two drama festivals winning awards in her first directorial role. MIND THE GAP was the most recent play to win awards at 2013 drama festivals and reunited the talents of Katie Mansfield and Sara Graham with a new found talent in Rebecca Giles. All three wowed audiences at two drama festivals.
Balancing Act returned to the OLD FIRE STATION to present Joe’s outrageously funny comedy, SPARE PRICK in September 2013 to great reaction from audiences.
In 2015 Balancing Act produced Joe’s family musical QUASIMODO A GOGO at the UNICORN THEATRE, Abingdon. A unique small theatre set in the grounds of the old Abbey which was the perfect venue to present this comedy musical aimed at the whole family.
